I'm Abe Wolfgang, an Electrical Engineer, writer, Father, husband, and full-time lover of story. I blog about those stories, how they impact us as humans, and why they are important. Occasionally I write my own as well.

The Chosen

The Chosen

The chosen are not chosen
They did not choose to be
Instead they are just stolen
To a life they could not see
It was not obvious to me
How it could mean more for us to be
A part of something bigger
A tool for something greater
One with something better

But thank the one who
By choosing us fools
Could create a future
More intricate than you
Or I could conceivably ever
In our wildest dreams
While keeping straight all the seams
Bring to life

He said there is a plan
And I believe that man
Who held in his right hand
The fate of all man
As he took the last stand
Paying the last demand
Bringing death under his command
And life upon this land
Once desolate as sand
Now flowing with milk and honey

No the chosen are not chosen
They are destined to more than those
Who would waste their time
Scrambling to make another dime
But to live you must also die
And if you die you just might find
That life was worth living after all
