I'm Abe Wolfgang, an Electrical Engineer, writer, Father, husband, and full-time lover of story. I blog about those stories, how they impact us as humans, and why they are important. Occasionally I write my own as well.

Some Days

Some days you have to practice what you preach. Those days are not fun. It's one thing to say something, even to say something with a passion and know that you are speaking truth. It's an entirely different thing when all of a sudden you realize that you are not following your own advice. As the adage goes, "You can talk the talk..." Some days you just can't walk the walk, and it is only really understood when you have fallen over and skinned your knee.

Some days you just can't wait for that some day to become today. Today has become boring, or difficult, or it is just taking too long to finally be over. Some day is exciting, easy, and seems to never arrive. It seems to have arrived for others, and what we don't realize is that to some, their some day has come to us but we are too busy focusing on our some day to notice it.

What do you do when some day seems to be slipping out of reach? What do you do when you feel stuck in today, and every way out seems to be closing? What do you do when you see the way out, when you walk up to that door and step just into the threshold before the door is slammed unceremoniously in your face? Yes, it hurts, but it's not the end of the world.

The truth of the matter is, some days it rains and some days it shines. Sure, it's tough to see the sun when everything is overcast, you may not even see it for some time, but you still know it's there. Behind all those clouds and all that gloom, there is hope. Tomorrow is just around the bend, and maybe tomorrow will be the day. You never know. All I know is to keep pushing, to keep getting back up, and not to lose faith.

That's all I can do.
