A Small Thought - On Saying No
Having trouble giving up something? Having difficulty just saying no?
Try taking a small step. Say no to that handful of M&Ms. Say no to getting your afternoon drink at Starbucks. Give your brain an easy neural path to denying that one thing that you really want, then watch as it becomes a little bit easier to say no to the big things.
Today M&Ms, tomorrow you will be able to say no to spending an hour in front of the television, even though you really want to. Once you can say no to the bigger things, it will get even easier. It will always take intentional focus, but you will indulge your impulses less often and spend more time doing meaningful things.
